Through the Victoria District - Men of Mingenew
"Mr. Nelson Pearse, who was born at Dongara, is managing director of the Yarragadee-Nalbarra Pastoral Company, which holds 100,000 acres in the Mingenew district. This area is largely used for stud stock breeding, and as a relief property for the two station properties in the Murchison, which aggregate 750,000 acres. His father, Mr. Francis Pearse, who owned a store in the district for some time, purchased Yarragadee in the 90's, and imported pure Koonoona stud sheep from South Australia. This stud has carried on ever since. Mr. Pearse is president of the Mingenew Agricultural Society, and has been a member of the road board for the last three years. He is interested in local polo, tennis and golf clubs. The three properties are carrying about 30,000 sheep. Yarragadee won the Pindawa gold cup at the Morawa Show by gaining the most points in the sheep section."
