     By this time the walls of their home were on fire however with the assistance of trucks carting water the houses were saved [4]
     He lost his car, which was inside his garage, and it was uninsured as its insurance policy had expired a couple of weeks earlier [4]
Along with Carnamah newsagent Frank BADRICK he quickly visited Nanson during the first week of February 1932 [12: 11-Feb-1932]

With floodwaters about travelled down to Perth with Jack HARMER by car on Saturday 3 June 1933 [5: 9-Jun-1933]
     They ran into a creek in Coomberdale and with water up to the flooring boards they had to get out and push the car through [5]
     On the return journey on Monday 5 June 1933 they drove through a ¼ mile of water near Moora (which was flooded) [5]
     They stopped at the same creek at Coomberdale and decided it was too deep so waited two hours for it to lessen in depth [5]
     After sounding the depth of the water and wading they proceeded with the journey and eventually arrived back in Carnamah [5]
It was reported that he badly strained the muscles of his right side on Tuesday 15 August 1933 [5: 18-Aug-1933]
During a weekend in September 1933 he had a visit in Carnamah from his father and his sister Miss C. GETHING [5: 29-Sep-1933]
