     Travelled via Moora en route to Perth where he spent his midwinter school vacation in August 1914 [10: 25-Aug-1914]
     In September 1914 he was transferred from Dandaragan to the State School at Kirup, in the State's South West [10: 11-Sep-1914]
School Teacher of the Carnamah State School in later 1914, 1915 and 1916, on an annual salary of £152 [39: 26-Sep-1914] [73]
     Transferred to Carnamah as temporary teacher while Alexander MACLEAN was on active service in the A.I.F. [73]
     Throughout 1915 and for the first half of 1916 he resided in a tent next to the school as no quarters were provided [7: page 88]
     In July 1916 the building of a new school room and conversion of the old one into teacher's quarters were completed [7: page 88]

     After the March Past, salute and National Anthem, the children "heartily enjoyed themselves" playing games [9: 28-May-1915]
He was among the first to play tennis in Carnamah after local subscriptions purchased the materials in February 1916 [9: 3-Mar-1916]
