By late August 1917 he had left Greenough and was working as a Farmhand in Three Springs [19]

In early 1934 he killed 240 rabbits in a short number of nights at the low cost of 6d. through the use of cyanide poison [5]
He mixed two ounces of cyanide with water which was placed where rabbits had previously been drinking fresh water [5: 16-Feb-1934]

His wagon and its load of hay were destroyed after a fire started during chaff cutting on his farm on Tuesday 1 December 1936 [5]
The horses were released from the wagon just in time and the fire soon spread towards Mrs Sara T. MALEY's heavy crop [5]
The Three Springs Road Board District Bush Fire Brigade promptly responded and extinguished the blaze [5: 4-Dec-1936]
He was among local farmers who hired through the Three Springs Road Board a boring plant to bore for water in 1937 [5: 22-Jan-1937]
A supply of good water making 800 to 1,000 gallons per day was struck on his farm at a depth of 119 feet [5: 25-Mar-1937]
His farm in Three Springs was unnamed, however was later named Yardgrove by his grandson Hedley N. HUNT [P40]
In 1948 or 1949 purchased a house at 88 Sasse Avenue in the Perth suburb of Mount Hawthorn [P40]
Sold their house in Sasse Street in 1952 and purchased another at 36 Daglish Street in Wembey [P40]
He remained on the farm in Three Springs, except short visits to Perth, while Letitia resided in Perth except during busy times [P40]
Left Three Springs and took up full time residence at 36 Daglish Street in Wembley in about 1960 [P40]
