While rabbit shooting on Monday night 13 November 1933 his gun exploded and a bullet entered his side and pierced his lung [5]
     After not returning home by the following morning Mr and Mrs HUF contacted John LAWSON and Walter CHAPMAN [5]
     They responded that he had not stayed with either of them and a search was then commenced [5: 17-Nov-1933]
     The bush he was shooting in was along the boundary between John LAWSON and Edgar HUF's farms [P133]
     On being found he was taken to the Carnamah Private Hospital and a few days later his condition was reported to be favourable [5]
Remained at the Carnamah Private Hospital for ten days, during which time he was visited by his parents, brother and sister [5]
Left the Carnamah Private Hospital and travelled to Perth with his mother on Thursday 23 November 1933 [5: 24-Nov-1933]

Left the Carnamah district on 30 June 1934 after being transferred to the Yuna State School at Yuna (near Geraldton) [0: image 03516]

Travelled to Perth to undergo an operation in early June 1935, during which time he was relieved at Inering by a Miss CODIE [5]
Following the operation and recovery he returned to Carnamah on Monday 1 July 1935 [5: 7-Jun-1935, 5-Jul-1935]
He closed down the Inering State School due to low attendance on 25 October 1935[276]
After leaving the keys to the Inering State School with William DUSCHKA he appears to have left the Carnamah district [276]
His annual salary during his periods as sole teacher of the Billeroo State School and Inering State School was £263 [73]
