During their time at Inering their only means of transport for the 15 or so kilometres into Carnamah town was a horse and cart [P61]
Around 1945 shifted into Carnamah town and initially resided in a rented house next to the old power station on Yarra Street [P61]

Among other duties he was caretaker and clearer of the Carnamah Town Hall [P61]
To supplement his income he kept a cow and sold its milk to various people in town [P61]
Also worked carting water with a horse and cart from a well on the western side of the railway line [P61]
In 1946 purchased a house in Carnamah from ex-local farmer Cornelius SHEAHAN at 4 Niven Crescent (Lot 18 of M1354) [3]
Also in 1946 purchased from Mrs Jessie C. THOMPSON the adjacent vacant block 3 Niven Crescent (Lot 17 of M1354) [3]
Resided at 4 Niven Crescent in Carnamah 1946-1958 [P61]
Great supporter of Carnamah's cricket and tennis clubs [P61]
Grew a large amount of vegetables and kept a number of chooks which kept his family supplied with fresh produce, eggs and meat [P61]
Had an account with Carnamah blacksmith, wheelwright and motor mechanics Henry Parkin & Son in 1946 [53]
Financial Member in 1946 and Committee Member 1947-1954 of the Carnamah District Agricultural Society [13] [58]
Steward of the Vegetable section at the Carnamah District Agricultural Society's Annual Shows in 1947 and 1949 [13]
In 1950 purchased from Hugh MCHARG the vacant block at 30 Robertson Street, Carnamah (Lot 60 of Victoria Location 1936) [3]
Received electricity at his home from local firm Henry Parkin & Son; in 1952 electricity for the month of July cost £1.8.11 [53]
Won the trophy for gaining the most points in the Vegetable section of the Carnamah Agricultural Show in 1954 [0: image 04750]
Passed away at the age of 68 years at the North Midlands District Hospital in Three Springs [1]

30 Robertson Street was sold from his estate to S. MUNTZ of Scarborough WA in 1960 [3]
