From The North Midland Times newspaper, Friday 19 July 1935:
Obituary - The Late Mr. Walter Bodycoat
"The death occurred on Friday, July 12, when Mr. Bodycoat passed away, at Perth. The deceased, who was 78 years of age, had enjoyed good health up till a few weeks ago, at which time he was residing with his son, Mr. W. Bodycoat of Carnamah. He was removed to the Carnamah Hospital and later Perth. The late Mr. Bodycoat was born in Victoria and came to Western Australia about 36 years ago when he was engaged in mining operations at Kalgoorlie and on the adjacent fields. He first came to Carnamah eight years ago. His wife predeceased him by a little over 12 months. He leaves three sons and two daughters, Walter, of Carnamah, Tom, of Cottesloe, Clarence, of Nedlands, and Mrs. Irwine and Joan, of Nedlands. The funeral took place on Monday when the remains were interred in the Karrakatta Cemetery."
