In 1904 he and his brother Lionel purchased 400 acres of virgin Crown land in Carnamah in partnership as "Dewar Bros" [P30]
They named the 400 acres Ingie, which was surveyed as Victoria Location 2979 and used to graze cattle from their Gingin farm [P30]
"Dewar Bros" were listed as "Farmers & Graziers" in Carnamah from 1907 to 1913 [6]
By 1909 they had also taken up an adjoining 1,000 acres in Carnamah, which became Victoria Location 2978 [44]
After returning from the First World War his son Percy settled on and began farming their Ingie property in Carnamah [P30]
His sons Percy and Bill farmed Ingie in partnership as "Dewar Bros" until Percy bought out Bill's share in the farm [P30]

In his will, which he had written in 1940, he bequeathed his 1,400 acres in Carnamah to his son Percy [545]
400 of the 1,400 acres was left conditionally to Percy, providing Percy pay his brother Bill £1,200 within a year [545]
