"Mr and Mrs F. Cole, of Carnamah, announce the engagement of their only daughter, Dorcas Lilian, to Edgar William, eldest son of Mr and Mrs D. E. Fowler, of Coorow."


From The Sunday Times newspaper, Sunday 10 March 1940:
Wedding
"Of interest to their many friends, was the wedding of Miss Dorcas Lilian Cole, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. W. Cole, of Ginawarra, Carnamah, and Mr Edgar William Fowler, eldest son of Mr and Mrs D. E. Fowler, Glen Waddi, Coorow. The ceremony was at Wesley Church, Perth, Rev. A.B. Lloyd officiating, and the bride being given away by her father. The trained wedding frock, designed on Princess lines, was of French woven silver lame, with three tiered veil edged with tulle lace. She carried a sheaf of white carnations, tuberoses and frangipani. She was attended by Mrs Frank Bradley, Misses Dulcie Fowler and Margaret Clark, their frocks of georgette over satin being of midnight blue, primrose and dusty pink, each designed alike in picture style. Topknots of lilies were worn and they carried roses. The groom was attended by Messrs Frank Bradley, Tom Read and Fred Cole, jnr. The reception was at Stirling Social rooms, Mrs Cole receiving and wearing navy self patterned georgette. Mrs Fowler chose cyclamen wool de chine. For her travelling frock, the bride chose golden brown wool georgette, with brown hat, shoes and gloves."
