She described the things they grew at school in a letter to Auntie Kitty, the children's page in The Sunday Times newspaper [81]
They had a sweet pea trellis, vegetable and flower gardens and in 1933 had planted twelve trees around the school for shade [81]
Five of the trees died over summer with the only surviving being one that had bush and wire netting around it [81]
In March 1934 their teacher made a shade house so they could keep plants at school alive over the summer months [81: 1-Apr-1934]
Competed in the tennis match between the Billeroo-Winchester and Carnamah schools on Friday 8 November 1935 [5: 15-Nov-1935]
Attended the Inter-School Sports of the Carnamah Road Board district at Centenary Park in Carnamah on Friday 2 October 1936 [5]
Won the 13 Years & Over Girls Skipping Race and was 3rd in the 12 Years & Over Siamese Race with Daphne R. CHAPMAN [5]
Also came 2nd in the 12 Years & Over Girls Potato Race and 2nd in the 14 Years & Over Girls Running Race [5: 9-Oct-1936]
Came 3rd in the Single Ladies Race at the R.S.L. Easter Athletic Sports Meeting in Carnamah on 29 March 1937 [5: 2-Apr-1937]
After her sister Mavis left her job working at the Macpherson Homestead she got the job [P7]
