He left Three Springs during July 1916 to enter camp with the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) [10: 28-Jul-1916]
It was remarked "a great pity so many married men with families are going into camp whilst so many single men are standing out" [10]
Presumably he wasn't accepted for service in the Australian Imperial Force as he didn't serve during the First World War [30]
