From The North Midland Times newspaper, Friday 1 December 1933:
"Death of Mrs. Linthorne - The death occurred at St. John of God Hospital, Subiaco, after a short illness on Saturday of last week of Gertrude Idahlia Linthorne, wife of Mr. Eric Linthorne, Stationmaster at Arrino. The late Mrs Linthorne leaves a family of seven, Keith, Lionel, Mavis, Lorna, Beryl and Rodney. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Criddle of Dongara, and her death removes a well known and a well liked identity from the district. The funeral took place on Monday of this week, the remains being buried in the Anglican portion of the Karrakatta cemetery."
