Worked underground in mines at Yalgoo however once he wife was pregnant she requested he cease working underground [P286]
They shifted to Carnamah in early 1898, where he worked as fettler with a railway gang on the Midland Railway line [P286]
His wife gave birth to their son, Edward Patrick HACKETT, in Carnamah on 7 March 1898 [P286]
In later 1898 or in 1899 shifted with his wife and son to Yalgoo where he worked cutting timber for the mines [P286]
Later acquired and farmed a property near Nanson [P286]
