Hay Carting Fatality - Man Falls from Load
"Whilst haycarting on Monday morning, Mr. Nicola Iovone, an employee of Mr Con Bussenschutt, of Three Springs, met with an accident resulting in his untimely demise. He was sitting on top of a truck load of hay which side slipped and precipitated him to the ground. When picked up Mr Iovine was unconscious and he was conveyed to the Three Springs hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition. He passed away at 5 p.m. without regaining consciousness. A post mortem examination revealed a fracture at the base of the skull. Deceased, a native of Italy, was 34 years of age and had been resident in W.A. for nine years, the past two months having been spent in the Three Springs district. He leases and a widow and three children in Italy."
