Farmer in Dudawa, East Arrino 1909-1950 [19]
His farm was the 490 acre Lot 21 of the Dudawa Estate, and by 1912 had been extended with the 283 acre Victoria Location 3563 [44]
Formed and gravelled part of the Midland Road in Three Springs for the Upper Irwin Road Board for £3 per chain in 1910 [9: 5-Aug-1910]
Did further contract gravelling in Dudawa for the Upper Irwin Road Board in May 1911 for £3 per chain [9: 28-Apr-1911]
In 1914 grew 300 acres of crop on his farm in Dudawa [10: 19-Jun-1914]
Member of the Arrino Cricket Club in 1921-22 [10: 3-Feb-1922]
Unsuccessfully applied to purchase part of the reserve near Arrino from the Mingenew Road Board in September 1926 [4: 25-Sep-1926]
Narrowly escaped damages to his crops on two occasions in November 1934 [5: 16-Nov-1934]
Both fires were quickly put out by local firefighters, the second of which started as a result of schoolchildren playing with matches [5]
He and his wife spent a holiday in Dongara in January 1935 [5: 11-Jan-1935]
During September 1935 it was reported he had lost between 40 and 50 sheep, however the cause wasn't stated [5: 27-Sep-1935]
He and his wife Elsie were among those from Arrino who attended the Royal Show in Perth in 1935 [5: 11-Oct-1935]
In October 1935 signed a petition in support of the Three Springs Road Board constructing new tennis courts in Arrino [5: 1-Nov-1935]
Returned to Arrino in early January 1936 after spending a holiday at the beach in Dongara [5: 3-Jan-1936]
Sold 25 suckers at 12/10, 25 suckers at 12/1 and 32 wethers at 28/- per head a the Midland Market on 7 October 1936 [5: 9-Oct-1936]
Two weeks later sold one cow at £6/17/6 and one heifer at £2/17/6 through Elder Smith & Co Ltd at the Midland Market [5: 23-Oct-1936]
In February 1937 he requested with the Under Secretary for Lands that Reserve No. 2326 be thrown open for selection [5: 5-Mar-1937]
The matter was referred onto the Three Springs Road Board who withheld consideration until they'd spoken to him [5: 5-Mar-1937]
Later resided in the Perth suburb of Kenwick [2]
