Despite his previous rejection due to being under-height, he successfully enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 27 June 1917 [30]
     He was described as 5 feet 1 inches tall, weighing 126 pounds with blue eyes, fair hair, fair complexion and a tattoo on his left arm [30]
     After training at Blackboy Hill he was appointed on 9 October 1917 to the 32nd Reinforcements of the 10th Light Horse [30]
     Embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia for active service abroad on the HMAT A73 Commonwealth on 9 November 1917 [30]

     Kenneth, who had previous convictions and had resisted arrest, was sentenced to three months imprisonment [39]
