Resided in Kingsley Holt until immigrating to Western Australia at the age of 25, intending to work as a Farmhand [338]
Departed London, England on the steamship Hobsons Bay and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 13 July 1928 [338]
Farmhand on Oak Farm in Baandee in 1931 [50]
Farmer in Carnamah in 1940 [6]
He farmed on or near the Inering Estate in Carnamah for several years, until leaving the district in February 1941 [5: 7-Feb-1941]
During his time in Carnamah he employed widow Mrs Mary Baker SALTER as a housekeeper [P520]
After leaving Carnamah he was employed as a Cement Worker and lived on Boulder Avenue in the Perth suburb of Belmont [30]
At a wedding a pastor suggested to Bert that as they'd been living together for some time, he and Mary should get married [P520]
